Positions Available:

 

General Office Worker

Basic office procedures, answering phones and directing calls to the proper personnel, typing, filing, faxing. Must have basic computer skills.

 

Warehouse

Must possess basic organizational skills and work well with others. Includes shipping and receiving of materials, loading and unloading trucks, and maintaining stock inventories. Must have basic computer skills.

 

Sales

Must possess strong background in the technique of installing windows and doors and have a valid driver’s license. Responsibilities include calling on general contractors, architects, new home builders and residential homeowners for the purchase of windows, doors, storefront windows and doors, and curtain wall and atriums.

 

Installer

Installing windows and doors involves working with power tools, ladder work, lifting. Must be able to read a tape measure to 1/32 of an inch, work well with others, and have a valid driver’s license.

 

Assemblers

Must have experience using basic power tools and be able to assemble precut wood, vinyl or aluminum parts used in the manufacturing of windows, doors, atriums and storefronts. Requires basic math skills. Must be able to read a tape measure to 1/32 of an inch.

 

Manufacturing

Should have the ability to work with small punch presses used in the manufacturing of windows and doors. Must have experience using small power hand tools such as drills, chop saws and screw guns. Must possess basic math skills and be able to read a tape measure to 1/32 of an inch.

 

Travel

Window Specialist operates in major urban areas of the Northeast and Midwest. Transportation, lodging and meals are provided. Working hours are generally ten (10) hours per day, four (4) days per week. Home on Thursday, depart on Sunday. A valid driver’s license is required.

 

Laborer

Responsibilities include loading and distributing windows and material, laying out drop clothes, interior and exterior cleanup, hauling debris and properly loading dumpster. Must perform all tasks in a professional manner without needing supervision. May also be asked to carry out special assignments and/or other tasks related to the industry. Tools required: tool belt, tape measure, hammer, putty knife, large screw driver, molding bar, steel toe work boots, gloves, razor knife and blades.

 

Apprentice Installer

Must be able to handle responsibilities of a laborer and be able to gut windows, insulate windows and perform general carpentry skills. Must be able to operate all power tools and perform basic bending of aluminum trim and application. Tools required: cordless screw gun, quick square, assorted screw gun tips, drill bits, caulk guns, chisels, red and green offset snips, trim nail slip punchnail sets.

 

Leadman

Must be able to handle responsibilities of laborer and apprentice installer and be able to install windows, replace/repair glass and screens, layout/bend and apply advanced aluminum trim, perform interior and exterior caulking, measure and cut wood stop. Must have an ability to accept responsibility, be able to teach and correct those under them, and possess basic planning skills. Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to operate all Window Specialist equipment (i.e. lift, 4-wheeler). Tools required (in addition to laborer and installer tools): 2’ level, 4’ level, socket set, stocked carpenter’s toolbox, holesaw, screen roller, deglazing tool.

 

Foreman

In addition to all skills required of a laborer, apprentice installer and leadman, the foreman must accept deliveries and place material orders, teach and run a 4-5 person crew, schedule work, keep time sheets for the crew, and maintain material inventory for the job. Must possess basic organizational skills. Tools required: (in addition to laborer, installer and leadman): Organizer.

 

Supervisor

Should possess skills of laborer, apprentice installer, leadman and foreman. Must possess advanced organizational and problem-solving skills and advanced people/management skills. Will be expected to coordinate and supervise multiple crews, enhance work environment/safety awareness, measure and estimate new projects, and create cost-saving measures and procedures. Tools required: Briefcase.
